The brothers of Tau Delta Phi Fraternity believe that you are about to enter a time of great importance:  a time when we are leaving our families and our friends behind for a strange, new world called “college.”  This is a time for new adventures, and as we go on this adventure, we are benefited the chance of meeting the people that will change our lives.  We experience the mistakes that will help us become the people we were meant to be.  We live the memories that  will one day influence the way we talk, the way we act, and the way the world views us.  Essentially, these years are the becoming moments of our lives.

Even as I enter my third year at George Mason, I am still“uncomfortably excited” by the thought of my  higher level classes, of new, strange roommates, and a year where grades may rise or fall.  I am uncomfortable to the point where I wish I could just stop and run away yet excited enough to keep on pursuing the unknown.  It has gotten hard and moments of tribulation haven been many but I take refuge in the fact that I am a Tau Delt, a brother of Tau Delta Phi.

In Tau Delta Phi, know that in times of hardship, there will be friends to support you; know that in  times of victory, there will be friends to celebrate with.  I did not always have them but, it is impossible to think of continuing my education at George Mason without them, of my life without them.  A fraternity is more than what is on the television or in films or in hearsay.  A fraternity is a way of life.  It is a path that not many people take, but to those that have, they can never go back or would they want to.

As much as I can say about Tau Delta Phi, the most important point is that it must be experienced.  And so, the brothers of Tau Delta Phi Fraternity, invite you to undertake your adventure with us.  We can provide the unbreakable social support that could help you in this strange setting.  We can provide the personal development that can help you cope with problems far beyond college life.  And, if you are willing, we can help you change the world, indeed, this is what fraternities are for and have always done.

Sincerely,
A George Mason Tau Delt
